about specific research awards and experiences, and career development goals.

 Internal Grants Workshop

In this virtual information session, we will discuss the different types of internal funding opportunities administered by the Office of Research.  We will address questions about which type of grant to apply for depending on your project's scope and goals, eligibility, and more. Pivot Training Session

Lehigh Libraries and the Office of Research will be hosting a virtual training session for PIVOT-RP, a research opportunities database.

PIVOT is one of the most widely used grant-searching tools in higher education, capable of searching available grants and awarded grants, as well as providing funding alerts and newsletters for research teams. Pivot offers researcher profiles to help you connect with users around the country who share your research interests.

If you haven't already done so, we encourage you to take a look around. You can find help documentation here.

Writing a Trade Book

In this virtual panel discussion, Profs Danielle Lindemann (Sociology) and Dominic Packer (Psychology) share their recent experiences on non-academic book writing - from writing a proposal, finding an agent, the writing process, working with your publisher to promoting your book.  

 
Early Career Grant Options

Join us for a panel discussion on the variety of grant mechanisms open to early career faculty. We will discuss the various options and strategies for success including NIH MIRA grants, NSF Career, and Department of Defense early career grants. Panelists Esther Lindstrom (Special education), Nader Motee (MEM) and Johanna Kowalko (Biological Sciences) will join us. This event will be held virtually over Zoom.

NSF Career Award Workshop

This is a peer workshop for Early Career faculty to learn more about applying for the NSF Career Grant. We will be joined by recent awardees who will share their experiences, insights, and answer questions.  This is an opportunity to ask questions and get advice on deciding when to apply, how to develop your proposal and other aspects of the program. The panelists this year are:

The NSF Career Award Workshop is a pre-cursor to our popular NSF Career Proposal Writing Group, which works with faculty from planning stages to proposal submission.

Broader Impacts Outreach Projects

Our Broader Impacts workshop hosts a panel discussion with campus faculty and staff who can partner with you and share their insights on how to develop a strong outreach project: advanced planning is key. 

Faculty looking to develop an outreach project for their NSF Career or other proposal are encouraged to attend this workshop.
