Faculty Writing Retreat

You are here

The Office of the Vice-President for Research and Graduate Studies will be sponsoring a week long writing retreat for faculty members from any discipline. The retreat will offer faculty members with an environment conducive to productive writing as well as support for tackling the challenges of long projects.

Sessions will run from 8:30 to 5:00,with breakfast and lunch provided. Lunches will include opportunities for discussion on writing with communications staff and other outside experts.

There are two options for the retreat week: July 10th-14th and August 14th-18th.

Selection Criteria

Participants will be evaluated on the readiness of the writing project and the utility of the retreat for the faculty member. For example, those working on journal articles or book chapters should be finished with conduct of the underlying research, and those working on grant applications should be in possession of full conception of the project and ready to focus wholly on the text. Some preference may be given to pre-tenure faculty. Faculty members who are teaching summer session courses are eligible if able to commit to being at the retreat when not with students.

All tenured, tenure track and professors of practice are eligible to apply.
